James Bond, ABS Director, Business Development, Global Government, will present 'Updating Canada's Zone Date System' at #Maritime #Arctic 2024 hosted by The Nautical Institute.   James will explore thoughts around and outcomes from an ABS study into updating Canada’s arctic #shipping zone date system.

ABS recently modified "Requirements for Use of Lithium-Ion Batteries in the #Marine and #Offshore Industries" to incorporate important updates. ⚡ These updates include adding new requirements for the lithium-ion battery system components, ventilation system, environment control, and gas detection and introducing goal-based standards and functional requirements.   Also included are updates for the main and emergency power sources, battery spaces, fire safety, hazardous areas, risk assessment approach and maintenance manuals.   Access the requirements here: https://lnkd.in/gFm3naZd
